How to export your data out of Unleashed

Option 1: CSV export from the screens

The quickest route is exporting a list or report straight from Unleashed to CSV or Excel — your product list, a sales report, stock on hand, and so on. It's ideal for a one-off: you need one view, you download it, you're done. The catch is that it's per-screen. Each export gives you that one report, shaped the way that screen shapes it. If the answer you're after spans several of them, you're downloading several files and stitching them together afterwards.

Option 2: the Unleashed API

Unleashed has a well-documented API, and it's the right tool if you want a programmatic, repeatable pull. It's also a developer job: you authenticate, page through results, respect rate limits, and handle each object type — sales, purchases, products, stock — separately, then join them yourself. Powerful and complete, but it's an engineering project, not something most operations or finance teams can run on their own each month.

The gap between them

Those two options leave a gap. On one side, quick CSV exports that are per-screen and go stale immediately. On the other, a full API integration that needs a developer. What most people actually want sits in the middle:

• All their data, not one report at a time
• Objects already joined — sales lines with their product, customer and cost, in one table
• No hand-managed row limits or pagination
• Something that's current, without rebuilding the pull each time

Option 3: a full sync, then export what you need
